Residents of Sosit in Kericho's Bureti Sub-county were yesterday left tongue-tied after a 30-centimetre thin stick allegedly emerged from a young woman's chest.
Daisy Chepkoech, 20, is said to have been sick for the last two years and has undergone several diagnosis including four operations at Tenwek Mission Hospital.
Residents concluded that the complication was a result of witchcraft.
The woman's aunt, Catherine Rotich who had travel to see her said she found the woman in pain as the stick had started to emerge. She was taken to Tenwek Mission Hospital where the arrow-like-stick was removed.
"The stick was protruding on the right side of her chest. By the time she was brought to the hospital about 6 inches had emerged from the body," said Josphat Korir, a medical practitioner who witnessed the incident.
